Blog Inspiration

So part of being a Sweat Pink ambassador is having the opportunity to network with other women who share a lot of the same interests. Specially…

Fitness.

Love.

Life.

Fun.

My 4 favorite things! So as I was browsing the VERY active and amazing Facebook community today I came across a few blogs I wanted to share with all of you! Things I thought you all may be interested in…

First runningwiththegirls did a really great job highlighting what the Sweat Pink program is all about! Looks like she is ready to meet some new friends and work hard to achieve her fitness goals!

Runningtowardtheprize had an inspiration post about finding balance in your life. We all know that we get VERY busy (I have school, a full time job, a wedding to plan, a house to fun, and a family to tend to) and I know we all wish we had more time on our hands. Well unfortunately that is impossible (time machine anyone?) so you have to instead find a way to balance your life. For me, I ask myself questions before I go to bed at night. Did I smile today? Did I have some fun today? Did I do something nice/good for someone else today? Did I accomplish realistic goals for today? Am I happy today? If the answers are yes, that’s a start to being balanced!

And over at melbournemaharani there is a great post on the 6 biggest mistakes that beginner runners make. And well, since I am still a beginner runner I LOVE finding self-help posts like this one!  Plus, it’s just nice to know you aren’t alone out there trying to learn to run!

So enjoy these awesome blogs! Some really awesome ladies!

Stay tunes for some recipes coming up from me!

Happy Mother’s Day

Yet again another Mother’s Day rolled around and yet again this morning I woke up and thought to myself “what can I do today to really show my mom how much I love her and how much I appreciate her?” I realized that this morning (yep- took me 26 years) that I don’t think I will ever really be able to tell my mom how much she means to me. Not all the real hugs and kisses or even those written and typed XOXOXO’s cannot really tell my mom that she is the most amazing person in the world! But she is amazing and the world deserves to know!

I actually have been really blessed to have many amazing mom’s that surround me each and every day. My sister who is amazing to our little bundle of trouble Peyton, Tim’s mother who loves me like one of her own, Tim’s cousin’s Katie who has shown me that a mother’s love is endless even when it spans over 2 babies at the same time, and I am constantly reminded that how hard but truly wonderful being a mother can be.

When I was younger my mom would come to my soccer games, braid my hair, rub my back, and provide me with all sorts of support and guidance that guided me along the way. As I grew older she was my shoulder to cry on when someone pushed me down on the playground, when my boyfriend smiled at another girl, when I missed that last winning goal, and really for any random thing going on in my life. After that she helped me learn how to put on makeup, she took me to get my nails done, and she still hugged me when I was sad. In college she told me “F” was for “Fantastic” not fail when I bombed that calculus test and drove 4 hours just to watch a movie with me if I had a bad week. When I moved to Boston she traveled miles and miles to come visit often, she left me cry for hours on the phone because I missed home and assured me that everything happens for a reason even when you don’t believe it in that moment. When I moved into my own house with my husband to-be she helped carry boxes up stairs, picked up sushi for dinner, and stocked the fridge with goodies. She was there at my First Communion and was there just a few weeks ago when I finally made my confirmation. I still see her at my soccer games on Sundays and now we enjoy runs and workouts during the week.

Now that I am in the process of planning a wedding we have crossed a whole new world! Full of wedding planning that leads to talks about colors, vows, wedding rings, and everything in-between. But more than that we have started talking about life, kids, marriage, struggle, winning, smiling when things are tough, crying when you need to, maintaining your sense of self through all of the crap life sometimes throws at you, work is hard but it’s better than not working, and friendship is a choice not a obligation and I can assure you that I wake up every morning and CHOSE to have my mother as more of a mother… as a best friend. She is with me every single day… even the days we don’t talk. I hear her voice saying “do a good deed, make a new friend”. She is truly amazing and I cannot thank her enough for being all of the things a mother should be and MUCH MUCH more!

So to all of the mommies out there…. you are amazing. I am not a mother so I know I can’t say for certain but I think that is a really really hard job. A job that takes everything out of you sometimes but rewards you in the most amazing ways.

And to my mother, you are truly amaze me. You inspire me. You motivate me. You make me want to be a better person each and every day. I love you!

Engagement Pictures are totally FUN!

So Tim and I really wanted to do something cool for our engagement pictures. We were pretty certain we want to use a picture of us for our save the date magnets so we needed some good pictures taken! My mom has been interested in Photography and bought this awesome camera so when I asked her if she would be interested and willing to help Tim and I out she jumped on board without hesitation.

So myself along with Tim, mom, and dad, got in the car over the weekend and made the 3.5 hour drive to Miami University. It was really important to Tim and I that we have our pictures taken somewhere that meant something to us- not just some pretty park so Miami was the obvious choice. We met there, we became best friends there, we became more than best friends there, we shared our first date there, we failed tests, we passed glasses, and we grew up into independent individuals there. This location had brought us together all those years ago and it was time we “re-lived” it!

When we got there, we went right to work! We went to the bookstore, we went to take pictures at the church on campus that we used to go to (it only lasted like 1 month), we went to the restaurant we had our first date, we went to the gardens on campus, we went to central quad where I used to live, and we just had a GREAT time.

Big THANK YOU to my mom and dad who were following us around like we were some famous ppl or something. They did an AMAZING job- so amazing that Tim and I are struggling to pick a favorite.

It was so fun to be reminded of where we fell in love and to fall in love all over again!

Here are some of our favorites (there is a vote later so pay careful attention).

Congratulations To The New Mr. and Mrs. Juve

Casey and Mark got married over the weekend and the wedding was PERFECT. I seriously cannot even explain to you how perfect this wedding was… there was no detail missed. Even the napkins were monogrammed and perfectly matched the green accent color. The drinks flowed freely, the room was decorated beautifully, the church was amazing, the food was great, and the dancing was fun! Seriously, a perfect wedding.

Before we left Ohio I made sure to get a photo of the couple about the board the plan!

One of Casey’s family friends was kind enough to start our day off with a bridal lunch-in!

The girls at the fountain on the way to the bridal lunch-in

The salads were very well put together and the flower really made this thing look extra special!

And then we got to play a bridesmaid game with cake! There was a hidden ring in the cake and whichever bridesmaid got it in their piece was the one that would be getting married next and it was RIGHT! Lauren got the piece and she is getting married in June so it was pretty accurate!

After the bridal lunch-in we had a small break and then we headed out to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.  It was at The Harbor House and it was BEAUTIFUL!

The girls at dinner

and Tim and I took advantage of how nice it was!

Tim and I enjoying the fun night out!

and we snuck a picture of the soon to be newlyweds!

and the other soon to be newlyweds Lauren and Rob!

Before we ate we got presents from Casey and Mark!

OMG Pandora!

And the food was gift in itself!

Halibut for me!

and dessert was Tim’s favorite dessert of all time

Key Lime Pie!

Clearly the girls were very happy with the evening!

Casey, Lauren, and Myself

Like I said, no detail was missed! including these candy bars that had Casey and Mark’s name on them with the cutest nutrition facts I’ve ever seen!

After the dinner we headed home and went to bed (the boys went out and got a little crazy but the girls were tiiiired) and woke up early to head to the salon where we had some delicious treats waiting for us!

Look at that spread!

Now that is the right way to get your hair and makeup done! After hair and makeup we of course headed to the church where Casey and Mark had a beautiful ceremony! Then we spent some time on the party bus!!

and like I mentioned above.. the room was PERFECT
