The Kind of Wedding You Dream About

So first off, special shout out and congrats to our friends Katie and Pat Abbott who just tied the knot this past weekend. Their wedding was, well in one word, unbelievable. Everything was perfect and perfectly beautiful. The venue was the Westmount Country Club which I read, after attending the wedding and being utterly impressed, has been The Knot’s pick of reception site in New Jersey for like 5 years in a row. Of course the most beautiful thing of them all was Katie who looked absolutely stunning in her dress.

Exactly how I imagined her. Stunning. Perfect. Simply beautiful.

The cocktail hour was my favorite part. I don’t know if it was the oversized drinks

Or the HUGE shrimp being served

But it was all fabulous!

Let me tell you a little about the cocktail hour. It was like another dinner. Pasta stations, sushi stations, tomatoes and mozzarella stations (my favorite- yum), displays of fruit and cheese and crackers. Carved roast beef, sliders, and everything in between. So between the bars (yes multiples) and the massive amounts of food surrounding us we had a heck of time enjoying cocktail hour.

Then had even more fun on the dance floor with the rest of their guests busting some serious moves. Which brings me to something else I LOVED… Tim and I only knew the bride and groom and one of the bridesmaids but every single person there was so friendly and easy to get along with. By the end of the night we were chatting it up in the elevator with Katie’s Aunt and Uncle like we were part of the family.

After dancing we had dinner where I chose the swordfish. One word. Huge. Okay another word. Delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly- really flakey and delicious and the potatoes were equally as good.

And it didn’t end there.

We had wedding cake just waiting for us when we arrived to our seats after breaking it down a little more on the dance floor followed by some deep fried balls of dough with powdered sugar. I’d like to stay I was able to hold back on any of that but…. I wasn’t! When in Rome right? In this case, when at the Westmount Country Club at a wedding that should win an award for being ridiculously awesome.

That is all fine and good but honestly for me… the best part was seeing Katie and Pat getting married. Their ceremony was beautiful; they spoke their vows loud and clear for all to hear and it was just another example of how perfect 2 people are for one another. Katie had wrote on her Facebook status a few hours before the wedding “today I marry by best friend” and when Tim read that out loud to me I honestly was like yes, yes she Is because it is not at all hard to see that Katie and Pat are truly best friends and now husband and wife.  Not every day that statement is actually true.

Beautiful couple, award-winning wedding, and a whole lot of fun!

We had a GREAT time!
