So first off, apologize for the random post you all saw today! I just recently downloaded Windows Live Writer in an attempt to make blogging easier! Not sure if that will be true or not but I thought I would give it a try. I also need to find a similar function for a MAC since my personal computer is a MAC. Otherwise I guess I could download to Tim’s PC hehe! Any suggestions on the MAC question are more than welcomed!
So I recently realized that I may have a thing for produce which makes this a Worrisome Wednesday post and a Tasty Tuesday post (see how I did that- pretty sweet hu?). Anyway every time Tim and I go to Sam’s Club we both walk out of there thinking that I just can’t stay away from the delicious of fruits and some vegetables. This Sam’s club trip I came home looking like this.
First we have a massive amount of avocados, mangos, and limes! All delicious and wonderfully healthy for you!![]()
Speaking of Mangos… does peeling a mango make you CRAZY?! If not, than you are way ahead of me and know the mango peeling tricks out there but this girl did not know how to easily make this happen. I always just took a knife and peels the whole thing and then cut it. UGH, that is one reason not to eat mango. HOWEVER, the box from Sam’s that they beauties came in had cutting instructions right there on the outside! So what you do is just cut it into big chunks around the core of the mango (I had to cut mine into 4 to get the most fruit possible) then you make slits in the mango without cutting all the way through to the skin and then the magic happens. Similar to getting avocado out all you have to do is take a spoon and scoop out the mango pieces you just sliced. Easy as 1, 2, 3 compared to the hard as 101, 102, and 103 that is used to take me! Just a little Savvy Sunday treat for you on Thursday! If you are a more visual person I also found this website where you can see the magic happening step by step.
Then we also have a massive amount of blackberries (which I usually eat in one sitting), blueberries (which I could eat in like half a sitting they go so quickly), and some plum things. For some reason I am having trouble remembering what those things are called. When I think of plums I now think of Italian Plum- which is the color of the bridesmaid dresses!
And then I take all of the delicious treats and I go nuts when I pack breakfast for work (typically I don’t eat breakfast at home because I spend too much time wandering around the house in the morning and then feel totally rushed!).
So I just have a thing for produce I guess! That is all there is to it! I also realized that I love all sorts of fruits but I struggle with vegetables.
Some of my favorite fruits are (fruits are FUN):
- Blueberries
- Strawberries
- Blackberries
- Kiwi
- Mangos
Some of my favorite Veggies are (veggies are not so FUN):
- Carrots
- Lettuce
- Tomato (or is it a fruit now a days)
- Pickles (I think pickles are veggies)
I’ll have to work on the vegetable thing I suppose!
Enjoy your day and be sure to get your fruits and VEGGIES in!!
