Saturday evening I attended wedding #2 of our wedding extravaganza to celebrate one of my old friends from high school named Bob! He was marrying this beautiful and sweet girl named Allison and they had such a gorgeous wedding! The wedding was at a public country club in Elyria and was the perfect location. There was a beautiful outdoor area (that we didn’t use because it was cold) and a lovely area for the reception that had plenty of room for dancing! The wedding was filled with a TON of things I was impressed by and of course getting ideas from for my own wedding!
First, not that it is my story to tell but I am going to anyway, Bob proposed to Allie using scrabble. They apparently love to play competitive scrabble and Bob had put tiny holes in the pieces to spell will you marry me so that when Allie went to pick out her pieces she grabbed one and got the entire thing… ADORABLE! And totally not like the Bob I used to know in HS so I was just down right impressed. I don’t know them as a couple however it was not hard to see how in love they were with each other. The Scrabble theme carried throughout the reception where we had cookies that looked like a Scrabble piece made with Bob’s mother’s recipe, Scrabble pieces were laid on the tables, and even Allie’s dad made a fun and sweet speech having Scrabble pieces spell out YES DEAR! Her little sister gave an emotion yet funny speech that I very much admired and I hope I can deliver one that good at Kara’s wedding, and Bob’s best man Ryan, whom I also know from HS, said all the right things! It was just a beautiful evening.
One of the best parts is that my parents were also there! So we got to enjoy a night out with them!
The table Tim and I were assigned to was a lot of fun and I was able to catch up with some girls from High School that I hadn’t seen since we graduated! They all looked absolutely beautiful and are doing so well and it was just so great to see them and see what they were up to!
I especially enjoyed seeing an old friend named Jake… who I just adored in HS and still do! He and his beautiful wife were tearing up the dance floor and no matter how hard I tried I just didn’t seem to be that impressive. I was having a hell of a time though!
Dinner was a buffet and pretty good! I got a tiny spoonful of mashed potatoes but loaded up on the carrots and got a fairly large piece of chicken. At this point I had a few drinks in so that food went a long way! THEN after the speeches, the cake cutting, the speeches, and all of the traditional components it was time to DANCE which I was all about.
I taught my dad a few dance moves while we were there (Michael Jackson of course)….
And when he tried to show me up on the dance floor I gave him one of these…
Mom and Tim were too busy fighting each other with big fingers to notice the shenanigans going on with dad
They didn’t mess with me because I am clearly a badass…
It was such a great and beautiful wedding and other than being confused by a bathroom sign…
And almost peeing on a vacuum…
I would say we had a great evening! Congrats Bob and Allie and thank you for a fun night!!
